I caught your orange chicken recipe today on FB, made in a GE Advantium. And it looks awesome. I went to your archives to see if I could find any more from the Advantium and did not see a specific link to send me to more. Do you have any others, and are they grouped together somewhere?
I'm trying this one as soon as I can get the ingredients.
Thanks.

I just looked at this again. It sounds just like Mrs Brown's cake that we used tohelp her make in the big kitchen of the house down the street.

she always left the skins on the peaches. Said it tasted better. I couldn't agree more.

I remember the Magic Mirror--only in my day it was Miss Nancy...

And I remember the peach cake that we used to get at the bakery, Emmie: not too sweet, and sometimes the peaches still had their skins on.. I haven't made it in years, but here's the old recipe that came from my sister-in-law's mom...both Baltimoreans, so it's authentic.

Beat 4 eggs well; add 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter which has been softened and cut up. Add 2 c sugar, 1-1/2 tsp vanilla. Fold in 2 c. flour mixed with 1/2 tsp baking powder.

Peel and slice peaches and put on top of cake batter. Drizzle with 1/4 lb melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Bake at 375 for 45 minutes in a greased and floured 10x15x1" pan--or if you want a higher cake, use a 9x13 pan.

Hi Laurel, great to see you here. I'll have to thank Celina for sending you my way. I started blogging a few years ago. If you click the link for Exit 51 it will take you over to my old blog that has lots of good stuff.

I looked into a CSA share this spring and couldn't decide whether to do it or not. I've missed out for this year but maybe next year we'll give it a go. Not knowing what would show up from week to week would certainly force me to branch out and try new things.

I imagine there's an entire generation of people who still feel the sting that Miss Sally never saw them. My tricked out magic mirror sees everybody : )

Hope all is well with you and your family. It's been WAY too long since I've seen you all.

Emmie, I don't have a traditional peach cake recipe. But I have taken a Cooking Light upside down Cranberry Ginger Cake recipe and used thawed, frozen peaches in place of the cranberries. If you'd like to try it, here's the link to the recipe:

http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=833334

Sorry I didn't have exactly what you were looking for but I do really like this cake.

Bon Appetit Hon!

Hi Wendi!
I didn't know you had a blog - this is really great. I was wondering if you have considered joining a CSA? We joined one this year and are loving it. We have tried all sorts of new veggies - kohlrabi, dandelion greens, beets - and have been pleasantly surprised. Our share is supposed to be for a family of 4 but we have managed to use everything each week (maybe I should be a little embarrassed about that). For people who love to cook it's a new adventure each week.

Hope to see you sometime soon. Take care.

PS - you can be sure Miss Sally never said Laurel - it broke my heart.
